Each week, members from our congregation gather to worship, offer
praise to God, and fellowship. Our Worship Leader prepares contemporary
as well as traditional songs for us to sing. They are selected with
the intention of helping us become uplifted in enthusiastic praise and
worship toward our Creator. We have the opportunity to sing many different
times throughout the service.
As we arrive, we greet each other and begin to fellowship. There is
much that has happened over the past week and everyone wants to catch
up. An information table is set out with general information on it.
There is weekly bulletin available that contains the schedule of the
days services and other information. Prior to services, a group of our
members gather together in prayer. They offer prayer to God as a group
for people who are in need, for those injured, and to ask for God's
presence in the worship service itself
Our worship leader usually begins our service by asking us to stand
to sing two or three songs then leads in an opening prayer inviting
God to the service. Announcements are given following this so we remain
informed of upcoming events. Perhaps another song or two is sung, or
perhaps something special prepared by our choir or our children is presented,
then it is time for intercessory prayer.
Intercessory prayer involves the entire congregation. Some bring concerns
or illness for us to pray about. Some bring joys and thanks for what
God has performed in their lives or the lives of others. Regardless,
the entire congregation comes together to be led in lifting up their
combined prayer to God for the injured or sick, for those who are in
situations that need prayer, or just to express thanks and joy for what
God has done in the lives of others.
Perhaps another song is sung after intercessory prayer but then it
is time for the sermon. Our Pastor usually opens with prayer then gives
a spirit led exhortation from the word of God. On some days during the
sermon, our youth gather with our youth leader for their own exhortation
of the word of God. There may also be children's Church held during
the sermon time for those not in the youth group. Our Pastor usually
closes his sermon with a prayer.
One of the last things the worship leader does is to again to lead
us in offering up praise to God in song. We end up being dismissed with
an encouraging benediction from the worship leader. Following this,
many brethren stay around to fellowship and have coffee and snacks.
We all return home happy to be able to praise our God for all the good
works done for us. By all means, come by and worship with us. We would
enjoy your presence!
